Fowler School Principal Finalist Forum - Tonight (May 2) 7:00 pm in the Fowler Library

Candidates will be introduced by Screening Committee Chair Charles Gobron. After a brief introductory message, audience members will have a chance to ask questions of the candidate. Time will be allotted for closing remarks from the candidate.

6:00- ­6:30: Christopher Fleming

Christopher Fleming has been serving as Assistant Principal of the Fowler School since March 2015. His experience also includes nearly three years as Lower School Assistant Principal at the middle school in Belmont and a year as Assistant Principal at Green Meadow School in Maynard. He also spent fourteen years as a 5/6th grade mathematics teacher at Fowler School. Mr. Fleming, a Chelmsford resident, holds both a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Education Degree from Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Massachusetts and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies with a concentration in Educational Administration from American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Several members of the Fowler School Principal Screening Committee mentioned Mr. Fleming’s lengthy record of dedicated service to the students and staff at Fowler, his vast knowledge of mathematics, his commitment to high standards, and his ability to be a valuable resource for teachers. Screening Committee members voted to submit his name to Dr. Gerardi for his consideration.

6:30- ­7:00 Leslie Knight

Leslie Knight is presently Curriculum Director for Secondary Math and Science for the Hudson Public Schools, a position she has held since July 2013. Before accepting the post in Hudson, Ms. Knight taught high school science for three years at Framingham High School, where she also served as the chairperson of the Framingham District Science Curriculum Committee. She also taught Chemistry, Earth Science, and Web Publishing for six years at Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School. Ms. Knight, a Maynard resident, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, a Masters Degree in Education from Indiana University, Bloomington, and has completed postgraduate coursework at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts. Several members of the Fowler School Principal Screening Committee
commented on Ms. Knight’s knowledge of curriculum, her approachable manner, and her commitment to both collaboration and active listening. Screening Committee members voted to submit her name to Dr. Gerardi for his consideration.

7:00­7:30 Sharon Seyller

Sharon Seyller has been the Principal of the Fuller Middle School in Framingham since August 2013. Her experience includes three years as Assistant Principal of Fowler School in Maynard, three years as Assistant Principal and Acting Principal in Scituate, a year as Dean of Students at the middle school in Norwood, and sixteen years as a guidance counselor in Sharon, Wellesley, Pembroke, and Merrimack, New Hampshire.
Ms. Seyller, a Natick resident, holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Notre Dame College in Manchester, New Hampshire, a Master of Education Degree from Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from the University of New England in Biddeford Maine. Several members of the Fowler School Principal Screening Committee noted Ms. Seyller’s positive experience as Assistant Principal at Fowler, her love of learning, and her advocacy for both project based ­learning and data teams. Screening Committee members voted to submit her name to Dr. Gerardi for his consideration.

7:30- ­8:00 Kristen St. George

Kristen St. George has been the Principal of the Chenery Middle School in Belmont for the past six years. Before accepting the post in Belmont, Ms. St. George was Principal of the East Middle School in Braintree for four years and Principal and Assistant Principal at Kennedy Middle School in Natick for eight years. Ms. St. George, a Holliston resident, holds both a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She also graduated from Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, with a Master of Education Degree with a concentration in Educational Leadership and Management. Several members of the Fowler School Principal Screening Committee commented on Ms. St. George’s solid experience as a principal, her knowledge of good educational practice, her self­confidence, and her thoughtful responses to their questions. Screening Committee members voted to submit her name to Dr. Gerardi for his consideration.
