Dear Parents,

Fowler School is excited about our new and diverse course offerings including Computer Science, Latin, Spanish, Chorus, and Band.  As a way to showcase these courses, we are offering a unique opportunity for parents (of any grade) to come and observe the classes in action.  While Spanish is not a new course, the teaching style is progressive and reflects an interactive and kinesthetic style of instruction.  Band is also not new, but we are so proud of our program that we want parents to be able to experience the instruction.

If you are interested in attending any of these classes, please call the Fowler Office at 978-897-6700  to reserve a spot.  Parents are welcome to attend multiple classes.  For example, on November 17, you could observe Computer Science, Latin, Spanish, and Band.

Food Service Letter:

Dear Families of Maynard School Students,

I want to introduce myself as the new Food Service Director for the Town of Maynard, in addition to updating you on the status of program for the town.

We are two months into our school year and hopefully you all received an email regarding your students account balance and what is and isn’t included in the School Lunch Meals. Each meal comes with a fruit and vegetable in addition to a milk or juice. We encourage all students who pass through the line to take a fruit and vegetable as well as their milk or juice. We understand that not all students wish to take advantage of the option, but we do our best to make them aware that we have several fruit and vegetable options that come with the meals.

Meal Prices:

Green Meadow $2.75                                    Fowler $3.00/$3.25 for Deli          High School $3.50/$3.75 for Deli

We have price listings and labels set up around the cafeterias to let students know how much everything is. 8 oz. and 16 oz. Poland Spring water bottles can also be purchased for $.50 and $1.00 a la carte. At Green Meadow and Fowler we have set up a hydration station in the cafeterias to provide all students access to filtered water as needed. Maynard High School had one in place already. Please note that students are charged for any bottle of water, additional lunches, snacks options, or additional milk or juice regardless of free, reduced or paid lunch status.

For additional information, our monthly menus and a la carte price list can be found online:

We encourage families to sign up with to monitor student cafeteria purchases, payments and account balances.  You may also use this website to set up low balance alerts and to pay for school meals, although online payment is not required.   To sign up, you will need your student's 8-digit "LASID" number. A link to this website can be found on school websites under Pay for School Lunch. Also, payments can also be mailed directly to myself, Chris Piercey, Food Service Director, Fowler School, 3 Tiger Drive, Maynard MA 01754.  As a reminder, we encourage families to prepay money into their child's account.

If necessary, families may apply for the Free/Reduced Meal Program at any time during the school year.

Go to to apply online, or ask your school for an application.

Maynard Public Schools has a "Charge Policy" that states any student with an account balance over -$15.00 will receive a peanut butter and jelly or a cheese sandwich and a cold milk or juice in place of the main meal option. This is done to ensure that payment is received prior to account balances becoming too high in the negative and to help families become aware of the account balances. This policy will go into effect on December 1st. For inquiries regarding your student’s current balance, if you cannot access it through, please contact me.

Any questions regarding the Charge Policy or lunch program please feel free to contact me at 978-897-6100 or email:
