Counselors went into English classes on 2/26 and 3/1 to introduce the Maynard Local Scholarship application to seniors. The application can be found here and is due on Friday, April 16th at 2:05pm.
All MHS students with a post-secondary plan that has an associated cost (ex: 2- or 4-year college, trade program, cosmetology program, apprenticeship, etc.) are eligible to receive funds through the Maynard Local Scholarships.
MEFA is offering almost weekly webinars designed to help students and families make decisions about their college acceptances and understand their financial aid packages. Topics include an overview of different types of financial aid, an explanation of how to calculate the balance due at each college, and methods for paying the college bill. Students chose classes in Tyler on Thursday, February 11. Counselors will be meeting with students through mid-March to confirm course choices before creating next year's master schedule.
In this webinar, a panel of college admissions experts will share advice on how to launch a college search in today's quarantined world. The panel includes representatives from WPI, Worcester State University, Brandeis University, Olin College, and Quinsigamond Community College
Barbara Ahern, director of disability services at Middlesex Community College, is joining us for "Transitioning to College: Information For Students With Disabilities And Their Families.” Families will learn the differences between high school and college disability services, how to apply for services, what post-secondary accommodations look like, as well as community-based resources in Massachusetts, and resources for transitioning to college.
The College Board recently released three sets of dates available for AP exams, both paper and pencil and digital. The administrators and counselors, in coordination with the AP teachers, are looking over these dates and will have a plan in place shortly for when and how each student will be able to take their AP exams.
PSAT scores for students who took the exam on January 26th will be released on Monday, March 8th. Please check your email (the address entered on your form that day) for information about how to access your score.
