NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

In compliance with Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education regulation 603 CMR 23.06 (3), The Maynard School District will destroy the Special Education records of any Maynard student who transferred, graduated, withdrew or terminated from Special Education programs or services on or before June 30, 2018 or has a birth year of 2000 or earlier. This is in accordance with the requirement to destroy such records after a period of seven years.
Any parent/guardian or eligible student can obtain their student record within 30 days of notice. To obtain records prior to their destruction, please contact Students Services, at 978-897-2138, to request and arrange a date/time to pick up records.
All unclaimed student records meeting the above criteria will be destroyed after December 15, 2025
We briefly evacuated Fowler School this morning after receiving a report of a possible gas odor. All students were moved quickly to the High School, where they were supported by Fowler and district staff.
Maynard Police and Maynard Fire responded within minutes, and were assisted in their investigation by Eversource. They have assured us that the building is safe, so we have brought students back to resume their school day.
Thank you to the Police and Fire Departments for their quick response and their guidance.
We also want to commend our students, who did a tremendous job by remaining calm and following instructions.

Once again, we will be collecting extra Halloween candy to send to our military service members stationed around the world. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to give back and share a little sweetness with those who serve our country.
