MHS Innovation Career Pathways
The mission of the Innovation Career Pathways Program is to empower students through hands-on learning, real-world experience, and targeted coursework in high-demand fields. By connecting academics with career exploration and building partnerships with local employers, the program prepares students for post-secondary success and informed decision-making about their futures
Maynard High School currently offers two Pathways:
Business and Finance
Information: Computer Science
Both Pathways involve:
Taking two technical courses and two advanced courses
Learning about college and careers
Completing a 100 hour internship during senior year.
It can also lead to industry-recognized credentials (IRCs). These credentials could be attained while in high school or during post-secondary education.
Information Pathway - Computer Science
The MHS Computer Science Pathway targets skills in programming that lead to a career in Software Development.
Students in the Computer Science Pathway typically complete these courses in the sequence below:
Grade 9:
App Development (semester)
Java Programming (semester)
Grade 10:
AP Computer Science Principles
Grade 11:
AP Computer Science A (Java)
Grade 12:
Web Development (semester)
Game Development (semester)

Business and Finance Pathway
The MHS Business Finance Pathway targets skills that lead to a career in Business or Finance fields.
Students in the Business Finance Pathway typically complete these courses in the sequence below:
Grade 9:
Intro to Business (required)
Grade 10 (choose 1):
Intro to Marketing & Sports Marketing (semester courses)
Accounting
Graphic Design
Grades 11 and 12 (choose 2):
Calculus (any level)
Statistics/AP Statistics
AP Business Principles (2026-2027 school year)
DE - Introduction to Entrepreneurship
DE - E-Commerce Marketing
DE - Principles of Management
Dual Enrollment courses will be offered through Middlesex Community College at no cost.
