NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
The National Honor Society (NHS) recognizes and encourages academic excellence, leadership, character, and service among high school students. It's more than just an honor roll; NHS provides a framework for students to develop these qualities and contribute to their schools and communities. NHS engages students in various activities focused on scholarship, service, leadership, and character development.
The NHS, or National Honor Society, is built upon four pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These pillars represent the core values and expectations for members, guiding their actions and shaping their development within the organization and beyond.
Scholarship:
This pillar emphasizes academic excellence and a commitment to learning. Members are expected to maintain a high GPA and demonstrate a strong work ethic in their studies.
Leadership:
NHS recognizes students who exhibit strong leadership qualities, both in and out of the classroom. This includes the ability to guide and inspire others, influence positive change, and take initiative.
Service:
Service to the school and community is a fundamental aspect of NHS. Members are expected to actively participate in volunteer activities and contribute to the well-being of others.
Character:
This pillar focuses on the development of strong moral character, including integrity, honesty, empathy, and respect for others.
